Oh, hello there! I don’t really have words to describe how things are going, but I will just say that these are trying times for me right now. Things that I might normally be able to handle with some prayer and chocolate, like the stress of school or budget problems or having my study abroad dreams crushed (yes, those things are all happening), are really being made more challenging by other “forces”. I mentioned before that I’m on a long and high dose of steroids, and those basically act to suppress and change all sorts of your body’s normal functions. For whatever reason, this course is changing everything from my sleep to my mood to my eating habits. Taking them goes against my entire philosophy about my health and my body, but the truth is that because we have no idea what’s going on they might be what’s keeping me out of the hospital or worse. And for that, of course, I’m grateful.

The reason I’m telling you all this is because 1) I want you to know what’s going on and 2) I always find that, for myself anyways, reading about other people dealing with the bumps in their road is just cool as reading about when they’re having awesome, fabulous times. We ALL have storms and things going on in our lives. I’m SURE that you do right now. This is giving me an opportunity, like I’ve never quite had, to gain perspective about the things that are important to me and dance through this silly rain. Letting every negative thing overshadow all the positive that have already happened is a pointless way to live life. Plans change. Stuff happens. It rains. Pack an umbrella. Or forget the umbrella and just keep going. Especially if it’s Wedndesday and it’s time to show your wonderful blog friends what the heck you ate! :)

Breakfast: oatmeal, peanut butter, strawberries, shredded coconut

My usual Cream of Wheat is sounding so disgusting to me lately, so I’ve been trying other things! I wake up STARVING every day (steroids make you hangry!) and would honestly eat 2 breakfasts if I had time to prepare them. This breakfast hit the spot though.

Morning Snack: pretzels and hummus (at school)

    Lunch: Chex and almond milk

I was too starving to make myself a full lunch when we got home so I made myself some cereal!

Lunch Part Two: pasta salad with spinach and roasted chicken

Dinner: homewrecker burrito, chips, queso @ Moe’s

I destroyed that burrito in NO time. So delicious.

Dessert: froyo and fruit toppings @ Sweet Frog

And now I’m sitting here in bed…and I’m STARVING again! Oh well…maybe I really will eat 2 breakfasts tomorrow.

Thanks for reading! And I hope that if you find yourself in some rain you can be dancing in it along with me. :)

I’m right there with ya girlfriend. When it rains it pours it seems. Being a grown up sucks. NOW lets just hope they can fix my car FAST so we can hit the road tomorrow.

Hang in there! I’ve had health problems, from vaginismus to gastroentological stuff, ever since law school started. It’s taught me that my health and my family are more important than all my anxiety about law school. I hope everything gets resolved quickly and your body starts feeling better soon!

Man, I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having health issues too. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the stress of law school is definitely NOT good for the body. :P

Feel better Lauren! I googled a J.R.R. Tolkien quote to brighten your day…“I do not believe this darkness will endure.” The doctors will figure everything out soon, I hope!

Also, I LOVE those hummus cups! I used to get them at the Hood Cafe in Balfour at Wheaton! mmmmm! xoxo
